Artex shares safety solutions with North American-based clients during annual risk management conference

Recently, Artex hosted 500 customers and related service partners at the 10th Annual Risk Management Conference. This two-day event, designed specifically for North American group captive and single-parent captive clients, took place on Feb. 14- 15 in San Diego. Topics focused on all areas of safety and risk management, and provided participants tools and resources to improve their safety culture and better manage their company’s various risks.

“Our 10th anniversary is special to us,” said Susan Hauser, Vice President – Risk Management, North America. “It means that we’re delivering solutions that our clients need to do their own jobs better and to achieve their company’s goals for creating a safe environment for their employees. It is rewarding to hear that the time spent amongst their peers, as well with both Artex and industry specialists, is time well spent.”

The agenda included time for each captive to meet independently and cover pertinent topics to its members. Following that, the general conference took place comprising a keynote speaker and eight breakout sessions that the participants could choose from, including getting to the next level of safety performance, the real cost of safety, the making of a safety professional, disaster readiness, California workers compensation legislation, injury prevention and wellness, and transportation safety. Computer crime investigator Michael Bazzell gave the keynote address on how to stop computer hacking at work and at home with an email phishing and social engineering demonstration.

“Artex is proud to deliver a conference to our clients which helps them build and improve their safety culture and risk management programs,” Jennifer Gallagher, President of Artex North America, said. “As one of the world’s largest captive managers, we offer a breadth and depth of solutions that help our customers set up and then successfully manage their insurance programs. Our claims and risk management specialists, as well as our strategic service providers and presenters, create an experience that is second to none.”

Chris Weber, Safety Manager at ODW Logistics and a member of the IWLA Group Captive, has been attending the conference for three years. “This is a great opportunity to enhance knowledge, network with colleagues and share information with people that share the same goals as I do,” remarks Chris. “The things I get from the speakers are real tools that I can take back to my facilities and implement.”
